Overview

The sales engineer position is responsible for providing proposal estimates, cost analysis, bid reviews, pricing, and proposal documentation for potential and actual sales. 

The position offers a hybrid/remote working schedule.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Serve as primary point of contact with customer during bid preparation, including clarifying specification requirements and verifying bid scope  
  • Prepare price and technical proposals for customer submittal, including preparation of standard proposal letters, bills of material, and supporting data or completing/preparing customer structured bid responses
  • Follow-up on submitted proposals for status and/or clarifications
  • Develop detailed cost estimates (including labor costs and obtaining material quotations) for all product offerings from customer RFQ’s
  • Complete handoff to project team for awarded projects and assist team in understanding scope and requirements
  • Work with manufacturing to incorporate cost savings initiatives and production improvements into estimates. 
  • Accurately maintain status of estimates, proposals and associated documentation in 1CRM.
  • Coordinate with the Compliance Team and Product Design Team for projects, as required.
  • Assist in coordination and participate in Customer visits to Systems Control

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

  • Associates Degree in an Electrical-related field or Business-related field or equivalent experience 
  • Five years of experience in a technical field
  • Two years of experience in preparing technical / business documents 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the company’s product offerings and customer needs

 

SKILLS 

  • Familiarity with electrical equipment, materials, and specifications
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Experience in Syteline, CPQ, and 1CRM a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
