Overview

Systems Control is seeking a Sr Structural Engineer to perform structural design & analysis in support of engineered services and manufacturing business segments. 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Equipment Enclosure Designs to ensure they comply with applicable State and Local regulations along with manufacturing/transportation requirements.
  • Participate in Value Engineering initiatives.
  • Certify accuracy and completeness of all deliverable products and services in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Develop lift-plans for enclosures
  • Support colleagues and customers as a structural engineering subject-matter-expert
    • Support project bids through specification review and preliminary design development
    • Support active projects by assisting managers, engineers, logistics, and others with structural questions
    • Assist internal manufacturing engineers in performing structural analysis on fixtures, carts, racks, and other manufacturing related tools and equipment

Additional Responsibilities include:

    • Create structural calculation packages
    • Apply PE Stamp to Calculations and Drawings
    • Manage PE licenses and continued education

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • PE License

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a structural engineering role (manufacturing or industrial setting preferred)
  • Familiar with NEC, IBC, ASCE, AISC, AISI, MBMA, ASHRAE, IECC and other relevant building codes and standards
  • Experience with Steel Structures, Concrete, and Foundations
  • Working knowledge of static and dynamic load applications
  • Ability to perform FEA calculations and analysis
  • Experience in Electrical Substation Design preferred

 

SKILLS

  • Experience in preparing structural and civil construction plans and specifications
  • Working knowledge of alternative materials and construction methodologies as may be necessary to facilitate clients’ needs
  • Proven analytical & problem-solving skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interface with customers (Internal and External)
  • Strong background in computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, CAD programs and other Structural or Civil software packages (RISA & Creo Simulate experience preferred)
