Overview

As an Electrical Engineering Designer, you will be responsible for creating wire diagrams and detailed assembly drawings using AutoCAD® and MicroStation while also providing technical support to engineering, design, project management, and manufacturing teams. 

Responsibilities

  • Interpret customer specifications and provide a design which meets all requirements
  • Check/yellow line protection and control wiring diagrams to schematic diagrams
  • Create control panel and field equipment wiring diagrams from schematic diagrams
  • Facilitate effective communication with internal and external customers
  • Interpret customer specifications with guidance from engineering
  • Assist project managers to solve manufacturing and quality related issues, which may consist of extended periods of time on the manufacturing floor
  • Support project managers with the creation of ECN’s and NCN’s
  • Assist engineering technicians with drawing checks as needed
  • Work safely in an around energized electrical equipment
  • Recognize a need for, and support process and product improvements

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in related engineering, co-op or internship role, or five years of experience working on a Systems Control project management team
  • Working in a team environment with manufacturing interaction

 SKILLS

  • Understanding of AC and DC circuits
  • Skilled at reading schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask given responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite
